Thomas Edward McCarty, 76, passed away at IU Ball Memorial Hospital on December 9, 2017 at 6:00 PM. He was born to Othel and Elva McCarty on March 15, 1941 in Muncie Indiana.
Thomas married Judy (Robinson) in 1961. He worked and retired from Westinghouse/ABB after 30 years.
Thomas was a wonderful husband, father, and provider. He enjoyed fishing, playing Euchre and Cribbage and doing his daily crossword puzzle. When his children were younger, he loved taking the family on camping vacations. Tom''s number one priority was taking care of his wife and spending time with his family. Thomas is survived by his wife Judy McCarty, two sons; Thomas E. McCarty Jr. (Tonya) and Phillip McCarty, two daughters, Deborah McCarty-Kizer (Greg) and Jacinda Sue Hicks (Brad), and sister Kay Cooper.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carolyn Sue, and brother, James.
A funeral service for Thomas will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Bill Bruneau officiating. Friends may call from 2PM on Thursday until the time of service.
