Tommy Gene Edwards, 70, of Yorktown , died Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, TN. He was born March 14th, 1945 in Muncie and was the son of the late Merle & Kathleen (Pierson) Edwards.
Tom was an avid IU fan, he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and going to automobile races. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Tom was a member of Mt. Olive Community Church and the American Legion. He was a Quality Control Engineer for Borg Warner and Engineered Cooling Systems in Carmel.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Janean Evon (McCreery) Edwards of Yorktown; his son Tim J. Edwards (Kelly) of Clarkston, MI; his daughter Mindy J. Brinkman (Mark) of Yorktown; two grandsons Austin M. and Cole P. Edwards both of Clarkston, MI; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Larry J. Edwards.
Funeral Services for Tom will be held Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Eiler officiating. Burial with Military Honors being conducted by the United States Army and the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 28th, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
