Ursula Sue'' (DeHaven) Dobbs, 93, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Westminster Village in Muncie. She was born on April 15, 1916 near Albany, IN to the late John W. and Hester A. (Michael) DeHaven. Ursula has worked since 1934 with the following employers; Indiana Glass Factory, Dunkirk; Production Credit Association, Muncie; Lockhart Insurance Agency, Albany; Weldy-Retz Insurance, Muncie; General Motors Chevrolet, Muncie; and Teal Oil Company, Monticello, KY. She and her husband Wendel owned and managed the Monticello Motel and the Shell Service Station, Monticello, KY. Ursula worked most of her life as an executive secretary thus retiring from such position. She was a graduate of Indiana Business College. Ursula''s hobbies included crocheting, painting, and cooking.
Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Needler ( husband: Marvin); granddaughters, Veronica Needler and Elizabeth Needler; great-grandson Justin Grimball; step-daughter Wilma (Dobbs)McGregor (husband: Ron); step-grandchildren, Stephen McGregor, Ronda Butala ( husband: Dan); step-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Gene Peterson (wife: Janell). Her sisters, Ercie Peterson and Hildred DeHaven, preceded her in death. Her first husband, Paul R. Cheesman died suddenly in 1942, after 4 years of marriage. Her second husband, Wendel E. Dobbs died after 30 years of marriage, in 1992.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Full Gospel Temple Worship Center, 212 West Seventh Street, Muncie, Indiana. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN. Pastor Denny Helton will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will also be Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
