Vera Mae Osborne, 81, of Ocala, FL, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010 at her residence. She was born on April 13, 1928 in Greensburg, IN, to the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Clemons) Matson. Vera graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1946. Vera later married Howard Samuel Osborne on January 27, 1951.
Vera was employed as a medical secretary for surgeon, Dr. Clevenger in Muncie, IN as well as dentist, Dr. Paul Otto in Mt. Clemons, MI. Vera retired in 1984 after 40+ years of service. Vera was also a PTA President in Dearborn, MI; was an Eastern Star Officer in Muncie, IN; and was also a member of Job''s Daughters in Muncie. Vera also attended First Baptist Church in Dearborn, MI.
Vera is survived by her loving husband, Howard, of nearly 59 years; their three children: Conni Whitten (husband, Michael) of LaGrange, GA; Mia Ng of Paradise, CA; and Bruce Osborne (wife, Michelle) of Harrison Township, MI; sister-in-law Norma Rozelle of Muncie, IN; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Richard. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2010, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Reverend Matthew Leffler will officiate the service. A private burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Visitation will be one hour prior to service, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
