Vernal Mae (Lovins) Terry, 86

Vernal went to be with her heavenly father on June 6, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Vernal was born February 2, 1932 to Hiram R and Leona J Lovins in Cincinnati, OH.  The family then moved to Clarksburg, IN where she graduated from Clarksburg High School.  She married the love of her life, Raiford Samuel Terry, on November 7, 1952.  She was a long time member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church.  Vernal worked throughout her life at F.W. Woolworth, Durham Manufacturing, H & R Block where she retired from.  Her loving and servant's heart lead her to volunteer and work part time at Liberty Village Nursing home as the Assistant Activity Director for over 9 years.  Vernal's main focus and favorite pastime was spending time with her family.  Her love over the years have given them many wonderful long lasting memories.  Nothing made her smile more than having a home full of her family after Church on Sunday.

Vernal leaves behind her greatest blessings, her son, Raiford Michael (Lisa) Terry and her daughter, Rita Mae (Steve) Nale.  She had four wonderful grandchildren, Michael Scott Herron, Stacey Michelle (David) Delaney, Delayna Lynn (Shawn) Eldridge, and Nicholas Michael (Jill) Terry.  She also leaves behind her beautiful and cherished Great Grandchildren, Lacey and Samantha Herron, Ericka and Kyndall Pursley, Collen Delaney, Austin and Camryn Eldridge, and Eden and Cole Terry.  Each family member had a special bond with her that filled her heart with so much pride, joy and love.

Vernal is also survived by her sister Betty Gabbard, extended family Stephanie, Anthony and Taylor Nale, a sister-in-law, Theresa Lovins, and in-laws Bill and Gladys Goad, Alvis and Armaryllis Sewell, Evelyn Terry, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raiford, her parents, her brother (Bob Lovins), her sisters (Irene Wolfe and Anna Lee Creech), her son-in-law (Scott Herron), and several brother and sister in-laws.
