Vernon Louis Mowery, a beloved husband and devoted farmer passed away on June 30, 2024, in Muncie, Indiana. Born on December 30, 1934, in Newberry, Indiana, he dedicated 30 years of his life to Delco-Remy in Anderson, Indiana, before retiring in 1986. Vernon found joy in raising cattle and tending to his gardens. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 52 years, Jan Mowery. His kindness, wisdom, and love for the land will be dearly missed.
Vernon is survived by his beloved wife, Jan Mowery; his daughters, Kim Oshier (husband, Chip); Lisa Novak (husband, Tom); stepdaughters, Debbie Capua (husband, Mike (deceased) and Becky Hayes (husband, Russ); stepsons, Rodney Davis and Brent Erickson (significant other, Robin); 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with one on the way; 3 great great grandchildren and sister Fay French. Vernon is preceded in passing by his parents', Jim and Mary Ann Mowery; daughter Tammy Holding, sisters Edith Phillips, Mary Campbell, Ruth Foster, and Doris Hasler; brothers Robert Bruner, Billy Mowery and Ike Mowery . Services have been entrusted to Garden View Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM on July 5, 2024. The service will begin at 12:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory-Muncie.
