It is with profound sadness that we announce, Verta Mae Garrett Michael peacefully passed March 15, 2025 at the age of 80.

Born in Muncie, Indiana, Verta was a beloved wife to Philip P. Michael and devoted mother to children Brenda L. Michael and Kenneth R. Michael (Dawn).

She was a devout Christian who was committed to her scripture and family. She enjoyed working on crafts in her free time.

Verta is survived by her children and grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn (Back) Roberts, Alexander Michael Back, and Jennifer Gabrielle (Michael) Fraley.

She was preceded in passing by both parents, Walter M. and Chlora A. (Idol) Garrett, and brother, Isaac Porter Garrett, and her beloved husband, Philip P. Michael.

Family and friends may call at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N St. Rd. 3, Muncie IN 47303, on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. The Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
