Virgil was born the son of Fred and Ada (Osborne) Starke on June 22, 1922, in a small town in Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ada brothers: Albert "Al" Starke, Cincinnati. Ohio, Vernon "Sarge" Starke, Muncie, IN. and Lyle Starke, Hillsboro, Ohio. Sister-in-law Pearl Starke.
Virgil served in the Army during World War II and Korean War (not conflict).
On March 24, 2016 Virgil went to join his family, with his niece and care giver, Linda Starke Colsten, sitting by his side. He lived a long life, was never married and had no children. He was a farmer of the true type that plowed fields with horses not horse power. He loved to tell stories about his milk route and his animals.
He has left many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, in Ohio and Indiana, to remember him and the stories he once told of his horses, the farm and milk route.
Virgil is survived by his sister Gerry Burchtold of Loveland, Ohio and sister-in-law Mary Starke of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Virgil would also like to thank his caregivers, Sharon Davis, Brenda Corya and Liz Grant. Linda as his primary caregiver would like for them to know how much I appreciated the care and concern given to my Uncle, also the Hospice Advantage group of nurses.
Viewing will be from 5-8 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3 on Thursday March 31, 2016.

Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on April 2, 2016 in Lebanon, Ohio with graveside services and military rights.
