HARTFORD CITY - Virginia "Ginny" Ruth DuBois, 83, died at 1:54 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 27, 1927 in Montpelier to Raymond Ramseyer and Thelma (Johnson) Ramseyer. She graduated from Hartford City High School in 1945.
Ginny married Delbert F. DuBois on July 3, 1953 at the United Brethren Church in Hartford City by Rev. H. Cobb.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother and a member of First Church of the Nazarene, where she was in the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. She worked with the prayer chain and was very active at church. She liked to bake cookies for the children at church and they all called her the "Cookie Woman". She was a seamstress and very crafty.
Ginny will be sadly missed by her husband, Delbert F. DuBois of Hartford City; daughters, Joyce (husband, Paul) Sullivan of Hartford City; Valerie R. DuBois-Nicholson of Ossian; Carla D. Collier of Haltom City, Texas; sons, James Allen "Jim" DuBois of Cherryville, North Carolina; David B. (wife, Joy) DuBois, Sr. of Hartford City; Lyle D. (wife, Deborah) DuBois of Alexandria; twenty-three grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (wife, Ruth) Ramseyer of Hartford City; Francis (wife, Gladys) Ramseyer of Sebring, Florida; Clyde (wife, Alice) Ramseyer of Hartford City; sisters, Mary Green of Hartford City; Margaret Ellen (husband, Milton) Park of Baltimore, Ohio; Vera Jean Ramseyer of Littleton, Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Carolyn Sue DuBois-Purvis.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at First Church of the Nazarene, 1402 W. Water St. Hartford City with Rev. Steve High and Rev. Richard Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City and from 10-11 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at First Church of the Nazarene.
