Virginia Hines, 91, went home to be with Jesus on January 15, 2010, from the Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had lived temporarily.
She was born January 4, 1919, in Madison, Indiana, to Rea and Emogene Konkle. She came to Muncie in 1937.
She was a Sunday School teacher for about twenty-five years. She first served at Five Points Nazarene and moved to the current Riverview Church of the Nazarene. She was a wonderful teacher and a great inspiration to many. She later joined and became a member of the True Light Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Hines; a son, Larry Hines; and Louise Anderson whom she raised and loved dearly, all of Muncie. Also surviving are two sisters, Mary VanDistieg, (husband, Ron), Colorado, and Ann Goley, (husband, Joe) Madison, IN; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Hines, Charline Rudisell and Joyce Hines, all of Muncie; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, Arnold "Jack" Hines; two brothers, Estel and John Konkle; three sisters, Mildred Groves, Nellie Reed and Jean Gymon; her granddaughter, Robin Elain Clemons; and one great granddaughter, Jennifer Grider.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at True Light Baptist Church, 805 N. Country Club Road, Muncie, where services will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Rev. Dennis Trimble will be officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN.
