Virginia Jane King, 86 of Muncie, died Monday evening, August 28, 2017 at The Woodlands. She was born March 27, 1931 in Muncie and was the daughter of the late Virgil & Lucile Mae (Keen) Smith.
Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for many years as a waitress in many of the local restaurants. Virginia had been the manager of Red Lobster, Pizza King and Mac''s. She enjoyed going to the casino and shopping.
Virginia is survived by her three children Richard H. Thomas (Mary) of Anderson, Dixie Jane Swift (Steve) of Muncie and Debbie Rene McKillip of Muncie; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother Charles Waitley of Muncie; three sisters Cleora Weaver of Muncie, Shirley Hatch (Jim) of Dunkirk and Brenda Patty of Florida; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wayne King; a brother Edward Waitley; two sisters Bertha Cox and Izetta Taylor; a grandson Phillip McKillip and a great-granddaughter Lexis Swift.
Funeral Services for Virginia will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor James Upchurch officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
