Vivian Jeanette Delph, 81, of Muncie, IN died Thursday January 3, 2008 at her residence in Muncie. She was born on March 6, 1926 in Clinton County, IN the daughter of Glen and Alma (Dickison) Carter. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1944. On March 23, 1946 in Goldsmith, IN she married Robert Delph who preceded her in death on June 26, 1994.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling and being with her family and friends.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Lori Needler (husband: Chris) of Eaton, IN; Marlene Kay Taylor of Chatsworth, GA; one sister, Julia Evans of Mogador, OH; two sisters-in-law, Frances Carter of Hobbs, IN and Betty Delph of Anderson, IN; six grandchildren, Bryan and Kody Needler both of Eaton, IN; Robert Carter and Ronald Carter (Anita) both of Dalton, GA; Kevin Taylor of Dalton, GA; Stacy Taylor of Atlanta, GA; one great-grandson, Eli Carter of Dalton, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Services will be 3:00 p.m. Monday January 7, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Ron Elam will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be sent to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association in memory of Vivian Delph. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
