A Memorial Service for Vivian Marie Gray will be held on Saturday, January 26th, 2013 a 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Receiving of friends will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Vivian, 79, passed away January 9th, 2013 at Baxter Memorial Hospital after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. Vivian Gray was born in Columbus, Ohio to John and Estella Hall on June 18th, 1933. After graduating from West High School, Vivian married the love of her life Dennis G. Gray. Dennis and Vivian moved to Muncie, Indiana. Dennis worked for Warner Gear. Vivian was a homemaker and restaurant manager. After Vivian earned her Associate''s Degree in Dietetics from Ball State University, she became owner of Vickie''s Diner. Vivian also taught Food and Restaurant Management at Anderson Area Vocational School. Dennis and Vivian retired and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1991. They enjoyed fishing on Lake Norfork and met many new friends. Dennis and Vivian rescued several dogs and cats after the animals had been abandoned. Her beloved husband Dennis died in 2007. After his death, Vivian continued to care for animals. She fed the deer and birds. At the time of her death she was comforted by the companionship of her five cats. Vivian also enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center. Vivian Gray was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She was preceded in death by her brother Jake Hall, sisters Imogene Schultz and Marjorie Schramm. Vivian was the youngest of her siblings. Vivian is survived be her two sons, Doug Gray of Muncie, Indiana and Don Gray of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
