Obituary

Former Muncie resident, Vivian Weeks, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 one day after her 87th birthday, after a long illness. Vivian was born September 14, 1922 in Eaton, Indiana and attended Eaton Schools graduating in 1940.
She was employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Co. for thirty-five years until she retired in 1979. Her career at Indiana Bell included assignments in Muncie, Bloomington, and her final assignment as traffic manager in New Castle.
Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Erma Smith; and brother Robert Smith of Muncie.
She married the love of her life, Charles E. Weeks, in 1944. Their marriage produced two children, Bruce E. Weeks of Plano, Texas and Leslie Ann Weeks (Munson) of Round Rock, Texas. Vivian is also survived by four grandchildren, Brian Weeks, Heather Weeks, Nicholas Weeks, and Melissa (Munson) Kelley; two great-grandchildren, Charles Kelley and Ashlynn Kelley of Round Rock, Texas.
Vivian was active in Alturas Club of New Castle, Indiana, was a member of Ladies of the Elks, and Pioneers of America. She was also a Member-at -large, Delta Theta Tau of Chapter Epsilon Eta.
Vivian lived happily in Austin and Round Rock Texas for the last twelve years of her life sharing her life with her beloved family.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie.
Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at The Meeks Mortuary, Washington Street Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family recommends donations in Vivian's memory are directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware County Support Group, 2200 White River Blvd. Muncie, IN 47303 or Local Hospice groups.
