Walter R. Clark, 85 of Gaston stepped in God''s glorious presence on Saturday, April 16, 2016 after suffering a massive stroke on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Walter was born March 9, 1931 in Parker, IN. He was born to the late Alfred and Freda Clark.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Patricia B. Clark; his daughters, Debra Clark of Muncie, Brenda Ritchie (Tim) of Gaston, Linda Mason (Steve) of Lawrenceville, GA, Joy Higgins of Ann Arbor, MI and Amy Weimer (Ron) of Farmland; grandchildren McKayla Clark, Emily Kubek (Tony), Amanda Fields (Donald), McKenzi Fenn (Heath), Courtney Moss (Shane), Kaitlin Disher, Mallory Merchand, Myles Merchand, Mandi Gibbs (Dickie), Mason Merchand, and ten great-grandchildren; a sister JoEllen Burris of Parker. Walter was preceded in death by a brother Watson Clark; a son Ronnie Clark, and a sister Betty Coffman (Jim).
Walter was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a past master of the Parker Masonic Lodge. He retired from Delco-Remy. Walter loved fishing, traveling, gardening, carpentry, and winters in Florida. His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially at the lake.
Funeral Services for Walter will be held Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Gordon Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
