Wanda Irene Rector, 82, of Wolcottville, IN passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at her lake cottage. She was born on April 27, 1928 in Muncie to the late Liel and Josephine (Thomas) Harris. Wanda is a 1946 graduate of Muncie Central High School. She also attended Ball Memorial School of Practical Nursing and graduated in 1958. On June 7, 1946 she married her love, George G. "Henry" Rector in Muncie.
Wanda was a nurse for Ball Memorial''s Labor and Delivery Department; Dr. Benken''s office; and also for Delaware County Health Center. She loved to assist the elderly in their day to day care. Wanda also loved the lakes of Northern Indiana and her lake home. Wanda was an alumnus of the School of Practical Nursing.
Wanda is survived by her children: Jeanne A. Shell of Poseyville, IN; Larry J. Rector (wife, Sharon) of Selma; and Steven E. Rector of Selma; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband Henry Rector of 53 years; and 3 sisters: Mary Turner; Lila Hughes; and Frances Rollison.
Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, has been entrusted with arrangements. Private family interment will be held at a later date in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
