IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wayne C
Zearbaugh
July 20, 1952 – August 17, 2025
Wayne C. Zearbaugh, 73, of Albany, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 17, 2025, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on July 20, 1952, to the late Bud and Pauline Zearbaugh.
Wayne was a 1970 graduate of Delta High School and went on to attend trade schools to become a skilled tool and die maker. He worked at Interstate, City Machine, and Luick Quality Gage Tool & Die, retiring in 2017. Known for his love of a challenge, Wayne's expertise in tool and die making allowed him not only to create countless projects but also to pull the occasional prank on his co-workers.
Wayne had many passions in life. He loved antiques, attending auctions with his brother Scott, and repairing clocks. He enjoyed watching westerns on TV and napping with his favorite "big foot" blanket. He especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren, always eager to share his wisdom with them.
In his younger years, Wayne was known for his long hair, beard, and Harley-Davidson—a true "cool dude." While the long hair and motorcycle have since gone by the wayside, the beard and the spirit remained.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Alicia Kern Zearbaugh; daughters, Sheri (Brad) Reichert and Krista (Ryan) Utsler; son, Craig Stewart; grandchildren, Thomas, Elizabeth, William, Maddie, and Cade; sister, Cindy (Dave Barefoot) Webb; brother Scott (Lisa) Zearbaugh; stepbrothers Nathan (Stephanie) Geesaman, Buddy (Jill Cunningham) Geesaman, stepmother, Darlene Zearbaugh; mother-in-law, Pat Kern; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by stepsister Reva Davis.
He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A private Family Service will be held August 2025; the family has entrusted Garden View Funeral Home with the services.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in the name of Wayne Zearbaugh of your personal choice.
