Will Roger Beaty, age 80, passed away peacefully near his winter home (Inverness, Florida) on March 10, 2016.
He was born on December 20, 1935 in Jamestown, Tennessee to Tollie and Ina (Wright) Beaty.
He is survived by his beloved wife Pansy (Wright) Beaty of almost 55 years, his daughters Twrenia Beaty Davis, Terri Beaty, Teresa Yingling (Bill), stepson Sheldon Franklin (Debbie), three grandchildren, Brittany Davis, Lauren Raymer (Justin) and Tanner Davis, brothers Boyd Beatty of Muncie, Warren Beaty (Connie) of Hamilton, OH, and sister Ella Taylor (Pete) of Jamestown, TN.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Quintin, Charles (Chig), Dale, and sisters Lois Nicholson, Alyne Huff, Martha Manis, Evelyn Beaty, and step grandson James Franklin.
He attended True Light Baptist Church, retired from Borg Warner in 1991, worked lawn maintenance at Liberty Perry Schools for 7 years, was a Veteran of the U.S Army and was a member of Whitney Lodge New Burlington.
Roger will be remembered as a quick wit, a provider, a protector to those he was close to, and mostly down to earth. He chose his time to be spent with his family and supported his grandchildren in every activity or event. He was elated to become a first time Great Grandpa to a baby boy next month. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, mowing, going to flea markets, and making people laugh. Before his death, Roger gave his life to God.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Roger touched are invited to celebrate his life and support his family at Garden View Funeral Home in Muncie, IN from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. at True Light Baptist Church Muncie, IN with calling 1 hour before the service. Burial will follow the service at Gardens of Memory. Reverend Dennis Trimble of Muncie and Reverend Darrell Nance of Spencer, TN will be officiating the service.
The Beaty family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff at the IU Ball Hospital Cancer Center in Muncie, the Florida Cancer Center in Inverness, FL and the staff at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, FL . Their attentiveness and loving care were endless. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roger''s name to IU Ball Hospital Cancer Center.
