William "Bill'' Michael Fancil, 81 of Selma passed away with family at his side from an extended illness on December 23rd, 2015. He was born December 18th, 1934 in Muncie and was the son of the late Ralph & Madie (McKinley) Fancil.
Bill loved family, football, sailing, playing euchre, raising and training German Shepherds. He belonged to the Schutzhund Club of Indianapolis. Bill was a carpenter by trade. He received his 60 year pin for being a Union Carpenter this month. Bill''s passion was traveling to Germany and other locations across the United States. Bill stayed close with friends from school.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Christine "Lotte" (Weisenstein) Fancil of Selma; his five children Terri Fancil of Georgia, Ilona Lambert (David) of Muncie, Tari Richardson (Larry Neal) of Parker City, Deborah Richardson of Richmond and Delton Richardson (Tammy) of Pendleton; five grandchildren Michael Johnson (April) of Selma, Natalie Neal of Losantville, Mack Statom (Misty Alfred) of Muncie, Lucas Statom of South Carolina, and Taylor Richardson of Muncie and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Charles Fancil and sister-in-law Sharon Fancil.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 29th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene, 10450 South CR 544 East, Selma with Pastor Jim Ballenger officiating. Inurnment will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. at the church on Tuesday. Memorial Contributions may be made to donor''s charity of choice. Arrangements have been placed into the care of Garden View Funeral Home.
