William A. Brown, 79, of Muncie, passed away Wednesday morning, March 19, 2014 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Bill was born December 28, 1934 in Muncie to the late Austin and Evelyn Brown. Bill graduated from Harrison Township High School in 1953 and went on to serve in the United States Navy Reserve. Bill spent his life as a farmer. He also drove a school bus for 20 years and drove semis.

Bill was a member of the White River Heritage Antique Tractor Association. He enjoyed farming and caring for his cattle and dogs. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, and especially loved the time he spent with his granddaughter, Emma Rose.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Brown; their two children, Chris Brown of Gaston and Cathy Haynes (husband Bob) of Muncie; his granddaughter, Emma Rose Brown; four siblings, Herschel Brown (wife Betty) of Fairmont, Richard Brown (wife Mary) of Deckard, TN, Carl Brown (wife Dixie) of Muncie, and Becky Fulcher (husband Fred) of FL; and several nieces and nephews.

The Brown family would like to thank Dr. Bahrami for the compassion and care he gave Bill, Dale Goth for coming on Mondays to set on the front porch to drink coffee and gossip about the neighbors, and also Verba Doughty Sr. for time spent with Bill enjoying memories of old times.

A funeral service to celebrate Bill''s life will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Road 3, Muncie. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also one hour prior to services Friday at Garden View Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association with envelopes provided at the funeral Home.
