William D. Cavanaugh, 84, of Muncie, IN died at 5:00 p.m. Thursday April 3, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on January 13, 1924 the son of Tiffany Louis and Mary (Bridgewater) Cavanaugh. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. In 1970 he married Janet (Mosier) Cavanaugh who survives.
He was a member of the Dunkirk Elks 1776 and the Moose Lodge #33.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 38 years, Janet Cavanaugh of Muncie; one son, William D. Cavanaugh, Jr. of Ohio; one daughter, Susan M. Berry of Kemp, TX; one brother, Paul L. Cavanaugh (wife: Mildred) of Portland, IN; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; one niece Diana Goodman, one nephew Paul L. Cavanaugh, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. at Gardens of Memory Cemetery 10703 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Greg Rittenhouse will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN is assisting the family with the arrangements.
