William Douglas Dragoo, age 70, of Muncie, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at his residence with family at his side. He was born March 4, 1941 in Muncie to William T. and Constance J. (Nuttle) Dragoo. Bill was a graduate of Muncie Central High School, with the Class of 1959. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bill worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Delco-Remy in Anderson retiring in 1997. He was a member of Whitney Masonic Lodge # 229, the American Legion Post # 19, and the VFW #651. He also enjoyed working with his computer and reading.
He married the former Theresa A. Porter on April 23, 1971 and she survives him, along with his brother, Richard P. Dragoo of Dallas, TX; sisters and brothers-in law, Sue and Steve Antrim of Portland, IN, Jane and Ronald Fowler of Greentown, IN and Rosalie and Garry Hunt of High Ridge, MO; many many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Frederick S. and Anna B. Porter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 1:30 PM just before the funeral service. The family requests memorial contributions to Muncie Mission, The Diabetes Foundation, or The American Heart Association, in memory of Bill.
