William Hollars, Jr. , 59
MUNCIE - William went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2010.
William was born to William and Beatrice (Denham) Hollars on July 22, 1951, in Muncie, Indiana.
He graduated in the class of 1970 from Muncie Southside High School. William was employed by Chrysler Corporation of thirty-three years before his retirement in July, 2002.
Some of his favorite pastimes were watching football, basketball, Nascar, old movies and playing shuffleboard. He also had a talent for growing a beautiful collection of houseplants.
Leaving behind to cherish the memory of his beautiful smile and laughter are his mother, Beatrice Hollars;
Children: Brad D. Hollars (wife Monica), Lorie A. Bowman (husband Shane), Lindsay N. Hollars and Andrea M. Hollars (mother Mary Cook); Grandchildren: Jordan M. Anderson, Cody R. Hartley, Kaylee J. Allen, Jonah B. Hollars, Grayson L. Hollars, Carsten W. Hollars, and Jaylyn Hollars; Sisters: Georgia A. Shaft-Wood (husband Robert), Betty J. Warren (fiance Larry Miller), Brenda S. Bebout) Brother-in-law: Richard Mandy;along with several nieces and nephews;former spouses: Jana Graham, Penny Hollars, and Betty Kirk; special friends: Bob Hale, Ronnie Perry, Chris Carpenter and Sally Wilson.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Hollars, Sr., sisters Peggy Jo Hollars and Edith M. Mandy and a brother-in-law, Broc Bebout.
Although William will be sadly missed, we can all have peace in knowing that he was led to the Lord by his childhood friend, Chris Carpenter. And on October 6, 2010, he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday November 1, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dave Shipman will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be on Sunday October 31, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
