William G. Ritchie, 51, of Muncie, IN died Thursday July 2, 2009 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie. He was born on May 27, 1958 the son of William Lee and Leah Gail (Stephenson) Ritchie. He graduated from Wes Del Jr. & Sr. High School in 1976 and Ball State University in 1980. On June 26, 1982 he married Linda J. Swartz who survives.
He was a member of the Corinth Congregational Christian Church, Eastern Indiana Livestock Breeders Association, and Indiana Sheep Breeders. He served his church in several different offices. He enjoyed raising livestock and farming. He was a 4-H leader for 18 years and was a treasurer of several 4 -H organizations.
Surviving relatives include his wife Linda J. Swartz Ritchie and one son Andrew Joseph Ritchie; parents William L. and Leah G. Ritchie; one sister Kathy Clary (husband: Jeff); one brother Casey L. Ritchie all of Muncie, IN; one nephew, three nieces, one great-niece, one great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday July 7, 2009 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Ken Taylor will officiate the service. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memory contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of William G. Ritchie.
