Wilma Jane Jefferson, 85, formerly of Gaston, IN passed away on Thursday May 8, 2008. She was born on August 25, 1922 the daughter of Norton Hayden and Mearl (Melvin) Hayden. She married Lloyd Jefferson on April 22, 1941.
She worked as a food service director for Harrison-Washington School Corporation. She was a member of Alph Tau Federated Club and Grace Circle of Gaston United Methodist church.
Surviving relatives include one son; Jeff Jefferson( partner:Rick McDonald)of Dallas, TX; one daughter Phyllis Metcalf of Pendleton, IN; three grandchildren Lea-Ann (Damon) Miller of Midlothian TX; Jo (Chris) Cross of Pendleton, IN; Candice (Jim) Stewart of Anderson, IN.; five great-grandchildren; Cayn and Mykl Miller, Collin Stewart and Jacob and Campbell Cross along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Norton and Mearl Hayden, son-in-law William Metcalf, husband Lloyd Jefferson, son Ronald Jefferson, grand-daughter Amy Rhea, sisters Della Kibbey, Maude North, brothers Everett, Walter, Samuel Hayden.
Service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday May 10, 2008 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 N. State Road 3 in Muncie. Pastor John Long will officiate the service. Viewing will be on Saturday May 10, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Memorial contributions can be made to Gaston United Methodist Church & Gaston Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
