Winnie Mae Weesner, 95, passed away early Monday morning, June 21, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born on, May 22, 1915, in Knoxville, Tennessee the daughter of John Leonard and Margaret Ina (Nelson) Herron.
Winnie married Abraham Weesner on, April 25, 1942, in Muncie. Winnie had been a homemaker. She had attended the New Beginings Baptist Church now known as the North Delaware Baptist Church. Mrs. Weesner was a member of the Warner Gear Sympathy Club. She enjoyed cooking and making home made candy. Her reputation as a cook preceded her. Winnie enjoyed playing card games and was part of a Euchre Club at one time and enjoyed the old game show network. Mrs. Weesner cherished being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce McMonigal (special friend, Robert Abadie), Muncie; her son, Michael Weesner (wife, Patsy), Rocky Mountain, North Carolina; a granddaughter, Betsy Best (husband, Brian), Muncie; a grandson; Brenton Anderson (wife, Renee), Muncie; nine great grandchildren, Michael Hammel (wife-, Erin), Carrollton, Georgia, Nicholas Best, Jordan Best, Jacob Anderson, Kayleigh Best, Shelby Anderson, Ray Jay Dudley, and Josh Dudley all of Muncie; several nieces and nephews; a special friend Robin Wehlage for the love and care she showed to Mrs. Weesner.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa michelle Thornburg in 1966; four sisters and four brothers.
Funeral Services are 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor James Marlow officiating. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory north of Muncie.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Parson Mortuary and on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
