Yvonne E. Reese, age 91, of Muncie went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Muncie Health and Rehabilitation with her loving family at her side. She was born July 20, 1920 in West Pittston, PA to William P. and Mary Ellen (Peltz) Orr.
She graduated from Barberton High School in Barberton, OH with the Class of 1937. She married Nelson F. Reese on June 10, 1939 and together they owned Nelson Reese Vacuum Sales and Service for 40 years. Yvonne was also a homemaker who loved to spend time with her family as well as being an active member of the Martha Circle at Riverside United Methodist Church and singing in the choir.
Yvonne is survived by her sons, Alan F. Reese (wife Carol) of Naperville, IL and James A. Reese (wife Beverly) of Muncie; daughter Mary M. McGinnis (husband Steve) of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Nelson, on March 12, 2007, and three brothers.
Funeral service will be Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Noon at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie, IN 47303 with Pastor John A. Young officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church.
