Zelma C. Everhart, age 91, of Black Mountain, NC, formerly of Hartford City, IN, passed away July 6, 2011. She was born February 8, 1920 in Hartford City to Jay Earl and Grace (Marshall) Stanley. Zelma was a Nurse''s Assistant at Blackford County Hospital for many years and retired in 1985. She was a member of Business and Professional Women''s Club. She married Robert Lewis Everhart and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1968.
Zelma is survived by her sons, Don (wife, Ava) Everhart of Hixson, TN and Paul Everhart (partner, David Ray) of Lake Lure, NC; daughter, Catherine Sue (husband, Perry) Prewitt of Warne, NC; sisters, Mabel (husband, Charles) Smith of Shapard, TX, Delores (husband, Ted) Paver and Karen Ketterman, both of Harford City; brothers, Dick, Paul and Ray Stanley, all of Hartford City; one grandson, Todd (wife, Bashka) Everhart of Long Beach, CA and one great granddaughter, Ella Marie Everhart; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Helen McClain and Betty Dollar and two brothers, Bill and Merrill Stanley.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one''s choice.
