Zena R. Hiatt Burkholder, 95, of Punta Gorda, Florida died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Tidwell Hospice, Port Charlotte, Florida.

She was born February 9, 1919 in Yorktown, Indiana to the late Peachie and Leonard Hawthorn. Mrs. Burkholder moved to Punta Gorda in 1981 from Muncie, Indiana. She was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving family, husband Roy E. Burkholder of Punta Gorda, who she married in 1990; two sons, Kenneth E. (Glenda Biegner ) Hiatt and Leonard R. (Kim ) Hiatt, both of Cape Coral, FL; step-sons, Fred (Connie) Burkholder of Cypress, California, David (Carol) Burkholder of Punta Gorda, FL and Keith (Dawn) Burkholder of Coppell, TX; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Mrs. Burkholder was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Kenneth E. Hiatt who died in 1982.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Burkholder will be held Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
