Zettie Opal New, age 89, of Weeki Wachee, FL, formerly of Muncie, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 with her family at her side. Opal was born October 27, 1922 in Lost Creek, TN to Shirden and Mary Ann (Bailey) Wilson. She was a homemaker who loved to quilt, crochet and do Word Search and Crossword puzzles. She adored her dogs, Princess and Angel.
Opal married Ervin New on November 3, 1944 in Stearns, KY and he survives along with sons, Gary New (wife Marianne) of Brookville, FL, and Darrell New (wife Linda) of Massaryktown, FL; daughter, Carol Baurtumn (husband Clarence) of Weeki Wachee, FL; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger New; brothers, Lee, George and Gene Wilson; granddaughter Stephanie and a great grandson.
Private graveside services will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie with grandson, Pastor Wesley New officiating.
